Artist Bio

Naomi Malone Artist Biography
Naomi Malone is an artist based in Lismore NSW, renowned for her distinctive decorative style that draws deeply from the rich textures and vibrant colours of Australian native flora and fauna. Holding a Diploma of Visual Arts, Naomi has a unique perspective that bridges her artistic practice with a career in the science field, enriching her work with a profound understanding of natural systems.
Naomi’s artwork is characterized by its bold use of colour and intricate patterns inspired by the native plants and animals that fascinate her. Her style is notably influenced by the ornate patterns and vibrant palette of Gustav Klimt, the lush, exotic scenes of Henri Rousseau, and the flowing, decorative lines of Alphonse Mucha. She approaches her work with the belief that the backgrounds of her pieces are as crucial as the foregrounds, encouraging viewers to engage in a detailed, contemplative examination of her art. This dedication to the nuanced elements of her compositions reflects her view of painting as a meditative and therapeutic practice.
