Born in England and moving to Australia when she was 10, Natalie still has strong ties with the UK. Living in London and Scotland with her husband certainly made an impression which is evidenced in some of her work. Her painting style has developed greatly since taking her first watercolour classes in Wimbledon, London 20 years ago. Much of the last 20 years has been about experimentation and persistence. Natalie has created a diverse range of paintings from large scale, realistic floral oil paintings to delicate watercolour florals and acrylic seascapes and landscapes. Now, a simplified approach where colour and confident brush strokes, composition and impressionism are what she strives for. Using multiple layers of paint to build depth and details and immersing herself in the process where she can see the painting come to life with energy is extremely satisfying and exciting to her. Natalie works from her home in North Brisbane which she shares with her husband, teenage daughter and her beloved cats and dog.
