Artwork Description

Growing up in the suburbs of Melbourne, there was nothing better on a scorching Summer's day, than when the kiddy pool came out. There's something about water that makes everything more fun.
Backyard Dip is a fond reminder of the days when it was too hot to do anything other than splash and soak in some nice cool water from the garden hose.

Created on cradled wood panel, starting with acrylics and finishing in oils.

Artist Bio

Natalie is an emerging artist based in Melbourne, Australia. She studied with the Milan Art Institute in 2025, returning to art after more than 2 decades in healthcare working as a nurse and midwife.

Natalie creates nostalgic, impressionistic paintings about the freedom and joy of an Australian childhood. Using a mixed-media approach, Natalie infuses passion and joy into every piece, with an invitation to the viewer to remember their authentic self. To recall the carefree, audacious, and spirited child that existed before the weight of expectation shaped us. Her artwork is both a personal reflection of childhood joy, and an invitation to remember who you were before the world told you who you were supposed to be.

Natalie paints from her home studio in Melbourne, combining her artistic career with the demands of parenting 3 rapidly growing children. Her work hangs in homes and shows across Australia and the USA.
