With a love of organic forms found in nature this artwork has been inspired by the vibrant colours of radar images and weather maps. The fluid organic lines capturing the movement of time and weather patterns encompassing an earthly feel of topographical lines and viewed from above.

I loved tangible applications of art dabbling with wood, drawing, paintings and writing stories. My passion for creativity led me to complete a Bachelors in Art Education in 1992. As a young high school teacher I found my feet. But not as an artist. Just as a teacher. After two years of casual teaching in every subject other than Art I became unattached to creativity. In 1994 I left teaching to fulfil a 17 year career as a NSW Police Officer. The latter 8 years as a Forensic Investigator. I could not have been further from the arts. In 2011 I was medically discharged from the Police Force. Struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) I used art as therapy. Taking courses in Screen Printing and working in this industry allowed my creative mind to quiet the noise. As a result I started designing my own range of screen printed fabrics which I was able to sell to both retail stores and customers. In 2016 I reapplied to teach and am permanently teaching Visual Arts in SE QLD. I found my current passion for painting after returning to teaching. Using my existing love for nature and organic forms I created my very first series of paintings, (the Heat Signature series). After winning the Ink Art Gin competition I have invested in a pottery kiln and have broadened my art practice into ceramics. My future lies with having my own Art Studio in Queensland teaching classes in multiple mediums whilst I continue to teach in the Education Department.
