I am a self-taught contemporary artist based in Sydney, and a member of the Royal Art Society. My practice centres on capturing stillness and elegance in the everyday — still life compositions and landscapes rendered through a harmonious palette and balanced form.
I work predominantly in oil and acrylic, though gouache holds a special place in my practice too, and drawing remains a constant thread running through everything I make. I paint en plein air whenever I can, drawn outdoors by a need to observe directly rather than from memory or photograph. Through this practice I've become an ongoing student of the Australian landscape — its particular light, its textures, its quiet moments. Rivers, in particular, keep pulling me back: the way water holds and breaks reflection, the stillness at the edges, the sense of a place caught mid-breath. Many of my favourite works begin on a riverbank.
Whether working at the easel indoors or outdoors with a portable kit, I'm searching for the same thing: a moment of quiet observation translated into a contemplative visual space, inviting the viewer to slow down and look closely at what might otherwise be overlooked.
