Artwork Description

Crafted with inks on watercolour paper, this artwork reverently honors the second-largest land mammal, exclusive to two African regions, whose resilience in the face of near-extinction is now safeguarded by global initiatives. Depicting the rhino's strength and territorial instinct, the monochromatic palette poignantly captures the hardships of survival, addressing poaching and habitat loss.

This print comes with a white border for easy framing.

Artist Bio

Natalya’s art draws inspiration from the world around her. She is attracted to exploring form and colour, and the infinite transformation of the subject matter brought about by different light settings and the viewing frame.
Natalya strives to capture the energy of nature and the experiences that come from immersion within it. Natalya uses objects found in nature to apply colour: twigs, leaves, branches and dried protea anthers. This enhances the painting process by creating unexpected shapes and linework, not readily achieved by pen or brush.

Natalya has a dynamic style, abound with colour. She seeks to find an emotional landscape of form taking the viewer beyond the simple description of her subject matter. She paints representative, abstracted and abstract work, often inspired by nature, and uses a variety of mediums.
