This lovely small oil painting is part of my small still life series capturing various symbolic objects in art.
Lemon is a symbol of fidelity, wealth and luxury. It also signify disappointment as pretty to look at but sour/bitter to taste.
I love how the yellow of the lemon contrasts with the blue pattern background. It creates a dramatic look to this painting.
