This was one of two paintings created in response to an encounter that I had with a barn owl outside my home. It was mid-morning and I live near the beach in Australia, so this meeting was a rather shocking one for me, an event that I am certain was linked to the full lunar eclipse that occurred the night before. This event marked a turning point in my life, without a doubt.
While the first painting embodied the energy of a full lunar eclipse, her sister painting brings the energy of the Plenilune (meaning the time of the full moon).
This painting embodies several feminine aspects - the light and power of the full moon, our profound connection to the natural world, the power of our attention and how it is used. The importance of being still, mindful, aware. In the months that followed that lunar eclipse, the same message was reinforced time and time again, in all different ways. When we allow stillness into our lives, we can hear our inner voice. From this place, we can seek guidance from our intuition.
Living in connection with our inner wisdom brings us into greater connection with all living things, and in turn, our lives become deeper, richer and infinitely more magical.
