Artwork Description

Letting Go captures the quiet strength of moving forward. I walk every day with my little white dog Baxter, often in nature and my daily morning walk helps me to face the day with courage. It represents my own effort to keep walking towards the light. Just as trees shed their leaves every year and renew themselves, we too can find peace in releasing all that does not serve us and embrace new beginnings. As I layered each colour, I felt the weight of past and present burdens lifting - until there is only possibility.

Artist Bio

All my life I admired immensely the artwork of others, never believing I could ever produce such magnificent creations. I studied and worked in other professions for income to meet my needs. I always did love creative activities; but they were just hobbies when I had the time.

Three years ago, at a time when I was undergoing great trauma, I had the strongest urge to just pick up a paintbrush and paint. When I did, I discovered two things. I felt a sense of great joy as I painted - everything else just faded. The best form of meditation and the best way for me to be in a state of peace and bliss. The second surprise was that everyone around me - family and friends loved everything I did. It feels wonderful to see my artwork in their homes.

I could be called the accidental artist. I paint intuitively and the impressionist style seems most natural to me. I am self taught.

My dream now is to share my art with everyone else. I hope that whoever is drawn to purchase my work ,will feel all that I felt as I was painting it. I hope they will find meaning within them that resonates with their own journey.

Perhaps some may even be inspired by my story to pick up a brush and create.
