Neil is a painter and sculptor, his mediums are oil paint, clay and the occasional high quality drawing. His most common subject is the human figure with a particular fascination for the face and its expressions. His work is realistic without being photographic.
Neil finally undertook a BA Fine Art and Visual Culture with Curtin University completed in February 2017. His previous studies with National Art School, Julian Ashton, TAFE, East Sydney College give him a well rounded arts education. He is a member of the Portrait Society of America and has been a member of NAVA.
An arts author Neil has both published in magazines and is the author of the novel "Henry Irving and Jules Bastien-Lepage".
He consistently enters the Australian and International art awards , he has won an award at the Royal Art Show as a still life painter (despite not really considering himself as such).

Too many to mention but Dino Valls, Didier Pacquinon, Nicolas Martin, George Clausen, Jules Bastien-Lepage and Tom Roberts are the most obvious. The Naturalist inclination is quite strong, presenting more than just the bland surface image.
