I have long enjoyed fine-art photography and more recently oil and acrylic painting. I am inspired by artists like Edward Hopper, William Wray, Jeffrey Smart - photographers Stephen Shore, Joel Meyerowitz and William Eggleston and in the cinema work of Alfred Hitchcock, Wim Wenders and David Lynch. My work is typically urban and everyday subject matter - combining traditional realism with the energy of abstract painting in an ongoing evolution to find the balance between two seemingly unrelated styles.
