Limiting the colour palette and exploring the tranquility of tonal abstraction by choosing only one colour or hue, allows the arrangement and composition to be central to the final image results. The formation of shapes, light and shade ultimately emerge, with the intention to lead the viewer to experience the sense of unity and harmony. Again the effects are dramatised by firstly using a painted background as the first exposure, creating a unique painterly quality.
