Artist Bio

The love of nature has always inspired me to paint what I see , there is no limit to the beauty and variety to be found in creation .
I am always drawn and fascinated by the ocean it’s majestic and invigorating power.
I love all kinds of arts and crafts and love a challenge and am always looking for the next .
With my life as a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother there is never a boring moment sneaking in time for my art can be a challenge in itself , but I wouldn’t change that for anything.
I was born in Geelong Victoria in 1954 and moved to NSW when I was 7 , I never finished high school due to health reasons .
I married quite young and had family of 5 children and now have 24 grandchildren 5 great grandchildren and have since pursued my art passion bit by bit between family commitments. Self taught at first then I attended a number of different types of local art classes including ceramics ,folk art I also spent a few years under the tutorship of Dirk van der Lind a professional Dutch artist and did a certificate for the art of Hindelopen while I was under Dirks tuition I also did lessons in portraiture later also attended classes with a local art teacher with whom we had an art exhibit of our own class’s works .
We spent 2 years in Zimbabwe at our church mission and while we were there I did a number of murals in the children’s ward in the hospital at Mbuma I have also painted murals in 2 nursing homes here, the largest one in the outside courtyard at Minchinbury Manor and also some large outdoor paintings on aluminium panels has also been fun to do .
Have also done an art course online/video type on painting the ocean.
I did run folk art classes from home and also spent two years teaching folk art at the local community college and 2 years as an art teacher’s aid at Australian Christian College, and run children’s art classes from home for home schooled children.
I love to work with all different mediums and styles of art but I do mostly realism.
I don’t have a formal art degree on paper but my life has been all practical hands on .
That’s just me
