Summer Days

With a carefully curated and limited palette of acrylic paint on stretched canvas, I painted this during summer whilst I was enjoying our vast blue skies and swimming under our hot summer sun. A room is literally lit up with the colours and mood of this painting, it radiates an uplifting energy.

Since a child I have had the strong urge to make whimsical creations and although I have tried many different disciplines, painting is the one I keep returning to. Painting in acrylic in an abstract style on large canvases is my current favourite creative pursuit and my love of harmonious colours is evident in all of my works. I look to evoke an emotion and strong feeling in the viewer as I personally look for and delight in this in art myself. All of my paintings are multilayered as I love scraping and sanding back the paint to reveal glimmers of the underpainting to the viewer, inviting intrigue.
I also have a strong background working with clay as an artistic medium, with many of my ceramic pieces sold and enjoyed by buyers worldwide.
