Artwork Description

Another multi-level journey in this painting. At first this painting started out really bright, deep blues and bright pinks. However, it just wasn’t resolving for me. I wanted to make it subtle, where you really need to stay with it to see everything within. The gold highlights the texture but it also creates direction around the canvas. The shadows are created in the valley’s and create subtle imagery as you move your gaze around the painting. This one is definitely for you to imagine whatever inspires you. The gold highlights will bring a lux feel to any room.

Artist Bio

Art has always been an integral part of my life, but it was in high school that my love for creating truly flourished. With exceptional grades in 3 unit art and 2 unit textiles and design, I ranked in the top 10 percent of the state and even had my work exhibited at the renowned Art Express in the gallery of NSW.

After a brief stint as a press photographer and dark room assistant for a regional newspaper, I realized it wasn't my desired path. In 1999, I took a leap and moved to Sydney to pursue a degree at the esteemed college of fine art. Balancing student life with financial obligations proved challenging, and I didn’t persevere with this degree.

My focus shifted to graphic design, completing an advanced diploma and embarking on a successful career as a graphic designer. I worked for various agencies, both as an employee and a freelancer, reaching the senior finished artist level before another career shift beckoned.

Amidst my personal struggles with mental health, I embarked on a healing journey that led me to become a counselor and psychotherapist. For the past decade, I have enjoyed a thriving private practice. Yet, something was missing from my life, and I also developed fibromyalgia. It was during this time that art, particularly painting, became a catalyst for my healing and self-connection.

Under the guidance of Kadira Jennings, I rediscovered my passion for creating, liberated from the constraints of my inner critic.

My art has become my yoga practice and therapy - a silent, deep listening to my inner voice. It’s the mirror for my experience, reflecting all the layers, colour and texture of what it is to be human. I paint what I feel. I paint to express. I paint to understand.

Every artwork is a physical, emotional and spiritual journey. Each creation an ode to curiosity, authenticity, intuition and evolution.

They’re an invitation to embrace every aspect of who you really are. And a reminder that there’s beauty in life’s messy, chaotic moments if you trust the process.
