Artwork Description

Dramatic and lively floral painted in a loose style (semi-abstract). The application of wet-on-wet techniques, intricate drawings, provides viewers with captivating pathways to explore. Painted on pure cotton watercolour paper, this is an unusual and outstanding painting capturing the essence of a bouquet with a difference. My influences include artist, Shirley Trevena, UK, Linda Kemp and David Tress. This painting comes unframed packed carefully in a flat pack cardboard package. Considering the diverse range of hues in this painting, spanning from whites and pale tones to darks and black, the buyer of this work has the flexibility The frame has the flexibility to adopt a frame of almost any colour to suit this work. This painting being a watercolour should be framed under glass.

Artist Bio

I have been teaching workshops in painting and drawing for the past 18 years and conducted regular watercolour painting classes here on the Gold Coast. Along with my love of teaching art, I enjoy developing my own art practice and exploring new ways of using watercolour mediums and mixed media. I hold a Bachelor Degree in Fine Art and an Advanced Certificate in Art and Design and I am passionate about helping others to discover the joys of creating art.

My paintings here are original one off pieces created onsite or in my studio from my own reference photographs and sketches. Only highest Artist Quality materials have been used. The subject matter varies and is of secondary importance as I am most interested in capturing the play of light and shadow and finding dynamic compositions. I hope you enjoy viewing these works.
