Artwork Description

This expressionist explosion of neo-fauvism illustrates the so-called perfect lifestyle facade that humans display to fulfil society's expectations of one another. Inspired by Basquiat, a New York graffiti artist, I intend to address the elephant in the room shedding light onto comforting lies of pretend happiness using his neo expressionist art style. Bold yellows and bright reds are used to emphasise the strong vivid lies that encompass us, they droop, drip and drag along the canvas emptying what was real now fading within memories, all that is left is this mask.

Artist Bio

I plunge into the depths of creative anarchy, discarding the shackles of conventional aesthetics with gleeful disregard. My work stands as a defiant testament to the futility of structure, a triumphant celebration of raw emotion unfettered by reason or restraint. Exploring perspectives that encompass us in the mundane of life. Inspired by Basqiat and Banksy, brushstrokes, once tools of delicate precision, now transform into frenzied outbursts of colour that clash and collide upon the canvas. The canvas itself becomes a battlefield, a theatre of unrestrained passion where the casualties are realism and coherence.
