Artwork Description

This piece is a celebration of colour and all the colours I see when going for my hikes along our amazing coastline. Going for hikes and long walks is one of my favourite things to do, so I added in the little path for those other hikers out there who love to immerse themselves in nature and are in awe of the natural beauty we have along our coastlines.

Nic Everist is a landscape artist working from her studio in Barwon Heads, Australia. Inspired by her travels, Nic loves to discover new landscapes and delve into the stories behind them; whether that be the story behind the place she is visiting, or the ones that emerge through her explorations. Each painting is accompanied by a poem to offer the viewer a deeper understanding of her work.

Over the course of numerous layers, Nic combines the abstract technique of acrylic pouring with realistic finishes to reflect both the organic yet defined elements of nature. These techniques mimic the unpredictable patterns of our natural environment while also drawing the viewer’s eye to the finer details. Through her art she hopes to encourage others to pay close attention to the world around them, and the patterns that emerge.
