I have significantly reworked this painting, especially the colour of the water, details of the kingfish, and by adding the moorish idol as a colour accent. I was inspired by the light interacting with the sea turtle and the interesting visual characteristics of the full-bodied kingfish that I photographed on my trip to Queensland. I loved sketching them from all the various angles in an impressionist technique to create this tropical underwater scene.
