This bold painting is a creative variation of van Gogh’s 1889 painting ‘Vase with Irises Against a Yellow Background’. I decided to change its name to be in French - Vase avec iris sur fond jaune. A thick application of paint on canvas, called impasto, with an emphasis of short brush strokes in the foreground. A dramatic, lyrically rhythmic, imaginative, and emotional application of paint is used in this composition.
