This is one a of series of oil paintings loosely based on self portraits with elements of landscape referenced from memory and imagination. This series was developed over a period of time whilst living in a solitary, remote rural location two hours inland from Brisbane, Australia. The work was executed in a spontaneous manner whilst exploring aspects of self portraiture as well as compositional elements such as form, tone, balance and contrast. The painting is oil on canvas and framed with a natural raw oak floating frame.

Nicholas Robinson is an Australian Artist exploring image creation in an introspective manner. He primarily works in oil paint allowing the compositions to emerge in a spontaneous manner by following an intuitive approach whilst also incorporating a balance between methods adopted from a traditional understanding of composition and design principles. His most recent series of oil paintings is loosely based on self portraits with elements of landscape referenced from memory and imagination. Nicholas works as a freelance designer and Illustrator. He also has worked in the Art Department for film/tv/events in the entertainment industry.
