Inspired from a series of plein air paintings I did on location in the Scenic Rim which forms the state border between New South Wales and Queensland in Australia. This series "Exclave (imagined)" evolved into an exercise of imagination, memories from this scene and an intuitive approach in developing the images.

Nicholas Robinson is an Australian Artist exploring image creation in an introspective manner. He primarily works in oil paint allowing the compositions to emerge in a spontaneous manner by following an intuitive approach whilst also incorporating a balance between methods adopted from a traditional understanding of composition and design principles. His most recent series of oil paintings is loosely based on self portraits with elements of landscape referenced from memory and imagination. Nicholas works as a freelance designer and Illustrator. He also has worked in the Art Department for film/tv/events in the entertainment industry.
