Godafoss is a waterfall in Iceland located in the Bardardalur district of Northeastern Region at the beginning of the Sprengisandur Highland road. These waterfalls are 12 meters high and 30 meters wide. Their location requires a long drive from the popular southern region which also means that it is much quieter with much less crowds. This was certainly the case when arriving here, and to top it all off it was also snowing upon arrival which meant the few visitors that were here had retreated back to their cars. Having the place all to yourself makes for a visit worthwhile, between the breaks of snowfall it was time to explore the area taking great care to avoid falling into the freezing waters below. Having found this opening between the rocks that was freshly covered in a blanket of snow made for a pristine scene.
