Artwork Description

Tide of Change
As an ocean swimmer and scuba diver, my view of the underwater world is through the square lens of goggles or masks. Too often the fleeting glimpses we experience disappear before we capture them in our minds.
Tide of Change explores the fundamental beauty and unfortunate deterioration of the world's oceans and waterways. This piece takes us on a journey from the rich depths of the ocean to the sandy shallow shores as they fade not only from climate change-associated bleaching and plastic pollution but also from the gradual fade of the need to advocate for our environment as we suffer from information overload and fatigue.
Tide of Change asks you to embrace the beauty of the ocean and lean into the opportunity to continue advocating for our world’s environment.
As a fine art print this piece is available as a limited edition of 30.

Artist Bio

My true passion is printmaking. I first fell in love with printmaking at high school when I started exploring screen printing for textiles. This love led to my completion of a Bachelor of Design with honours from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). My creative curiosity led me to jump from screen-printing textiles to printmaking, and I have spent the last 20 years developing and refining my techniques.

As a member of Willoughby Arts Centre in Sydney for over ten years, I was privileged to be mentored by Roz Keane, a renowned printmaker.

My practice focuses on ‘works on paper’ that explore the textures and colours of the Australian environment through intaglio techniques, collagraphs, cyanotypes and relief printing.
Relocating to the Gold Coast has opened new channels of inspiration, with the local landscape and seascape offering new areas of investigation, particularly in response to our relationship with our country.
