Artwork Description

Recently showcased at the NSW Glasshouse Regional Gallery as part of the 2026 Northern Exposure exhibition, this one-off historical piece is now looking for its forever home! Inspired by the iconic wind swept Banksia tree that used to perfectly frame the Tacking Point Lighthouse in Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia. This landmark was unfortunately felled in 2017 aesthetically changing the dramatic landscape. A naturally balanced composition, this vibrant piece compels the viewer to step closer and take in the full detail of the people walking around the lighthouse, road and shadows as if you were there in person. An historical, eye-catching masterpiece that will compliment any space.

Meticulously crafted with handmade Langridge Oils on stretched canvas, finished with Windsor & Newton gloss varnish for UV protection and longevity. It comes with an authenticity certificate for valuation and insurance purposes. Sides are neatly painted.
