Part of my 'Gilded Wildflowers' collection, this work was created during my time living on the West Coast of Tasmania and the flowers I came across. I painted wildflowers(some call weeds) and treated them as if they were roses, and tulips and framed them in gold.
As I travelled the West Coast roads these magenta flowers arose from the edges in a stunning display. Up close they are even more intriguing.
Known as a 'trigger' flower, I believe these are one of the few native flowers that made it into the collection.
