While not originally part of the 'Gilded Wildflowers' collection it takes the same inspiration. I paint wildflowers(some call weeds) and treat them as if they were roses, and tulips and frame them in gold. This work was created during my Artist's Residency in Cygnet at Balfour House.
"Pretty pink cigars", was my first impression of these wildflowers, I found around my house. One of the reasons I love painting wildflowers is the opportunity it gives me to look more closer at their details. To appreciate their shapes, and colours and truly see their stunning beauty. These fumaria , up close, are much more complex.
