Artwork Description

I wanted to showcase the Proteas flowers as I have them growing in my garden. They
are such extraordinary flowers - more like small sculptures.

This painting would certainly be a talking point and brighten up the room.

Artist Bio

I have a life long passion for painting, as a child my most precious possession was a tin box of paints. I have always adored colour, the brighter the better, magenta, red, turquoise and yellow .... these lovely bright colours bring me joy and I want my work to exude this joy and happiness to others too.. I have lived and painted in a number of locations along Australis's eastern seaboard and am a frequent traveller to the Greek Islands all of which has provided inspiration along the way for my work.

I work mainly in acrylics, but also enjoy mixed media. My subject matter is extremely varied from portraits, landscapes, seascapes, animals and floral still life as well as people going about every day things . My subject matter seem to jump out and choose me, I see something and it just appeals, especially if it is quirky, and I have to paint it. When I pick up my brush and start painting my world stops and I am somewhere else and hours go by without my noticing - this is the time I feel totally contented and at peace with my life.

My work was featured in a 9 page article in "Artist's Palette in July 2015.

In 2013 I opened my studio for Noosa Art Register & Trial and in both 2017 and 2019 I again opened my studio with Noosa Open Studios.
