Artist Bio

Nicole has been painting for 25 years, beginning her creative journey with a birthday gift from her mother—painting lessons at the Gold Coast Art School in Southport. This initial exposure deepened Nicole’s love for composition and set her on a dedicated path to "create art." Working primarily with oils, Nicole is drawn to the vibrant colours and rich textures the medium offers, allowing her to bring her landscapes to life with a striking realism.
Nicole and her family recently spent 16-months traveling across the breathtaking landscapes of Australia. From the ochre-hued rocks of the Northern Territory and Western Australia to the serene blue-green ocean palette of Keppel Island, and from Darwin's vivid sunsets to the rolling green hills of South Australia's wine regions. Nicole’s experiences with Australia’s extreme colours and contours have left an indelible impression on her artistry.
Her paintings pay homage to the extraordinary beauty and diversity of the Australian landscape, transporting viewers into the immersive experience of her family’s travels. With a keen eye for detail and an artist’s sensitivity, Nicole invites her audience to not only see but to feel the landscapes she loves. Her goal is to create works that resonate as lived experiences, capturing the vastness and vibrant spirit of Australia on canvas.
Nicole’s art education includes lessons at the Gold Coast Art School and additional training through Artable, where she studied under Hobie Porter and attended a workshop with Jeni Fawkner. She also benefited from private lessons with Corrine Lewis.
Her work has been recognized in multiple competitions and awards. In 2015, she was a finalist at the Gold Coast Art Centre (now HOTA). Nicole received a commission in 2017 for an abstract ocean piece. In 2018, she was a finalist in the Border Art Prize at the Tweed Regional Gallery, the Morris Art Prize in Carrara, and the Darcy Doyle Art Awards in Mudgeeraba, Qld. Nicole’s achievements continued with a "Highly Commended" recognition at the 2019 Darcy Doyle Art Awards, where she was also a finalist. She received a seascape commission in 2020 and was a finalist in The Doyles Art Awards in Mudgeeraba, Qld, for three consecutive years: 2022, 2023, and 2024.
