I love a good urban landscape - the light and shadows are the best! I am a professional artist and have been painting for over 30 years. I'm absolutely passionate about visual arts. Usually I paint the natural landscape but every now and then I adore an urban street scene. This one was so enjoyable to paint and every little angle and shadow had me enraptured.

The Royal national Park always inspires me. This piece ended up full of gelato-styles pastel colours. For this from the area , it is the view looking east along the Port Hacking River from the Audley Weir. The reward at the end of the track is a great view back to Cronulla. Expressively painted with every brushstroke purposeful yet at ease. The gum trees on a grassy patch are in the foreground and the bush filled mountain or hillside are in the distance with the light hitting the trees of the national park. THe blue Port Hacking River lies between the two with reflections in green. Colours dominant are green pink, pale blue, mauve and the stunning white trunks of Amstralian eucalypt gum trees.

The artwork is oil on primed wood board, and comes professionally framed in natural oak. There is something quite special about walking the Esplanade at Cronulla on a dark overcast day and watching an ocean that is alive with movement.

I find the incredible colours of the shoreline foliage are intensified when damp on a day with no sun shining. So many purples, rusty reds, oranges and pinks jumped out at me. I really loved painting this one, the looseness and carefree approach with the paintbrush was so enjoyable, and I think it’s one of my first grey day moody pieces.
I love the winswept tree and ocean side shrubbery and great rocks look as if they are falling down to the sea.A street scene of the Strand, the main road through Croydon village. It shows the distinctive old post office which are prominent and iconic through many suburbs of the inner west of Sydney. The afternoon sun creates strong shadows off the two storey building of the street. To the left, a pair of a much longer row of palm trees frame the scene. A beach scene of a bay at sunset as last light results in golden light and long shadows. There are trees along side the sand with sunlight hitting the trees. Headland and boats in the the distance.
