Artwork Description

Like pouring water on electricity, this painting sparks with colour and glimmers of light. Turquoise, magenta, violet and crimson glaze over neon yellow and orange. She will bring warmth and intrigue to your space.

Created as part of the State of Abstraction collection - a collection of abstract oil paintings exploring the nuances of colour and form, and their ability to evoke the human experience.

Artist Bio

I am an emerging contemporary artist based in lutruwita (Tasmania, Australia), a small island at the bottom of the world. I create vibrant abstract oil paintings and, occasionally, detailed figurative drawings from my little sunroom studio overlooking the water.

I am inspired by so many things: a gentle breeze, the way light falls, bright colours, good design, almost every kind of music (but especially rock), the moon, native flowers, a good book, travel, everyone else’s art, the list could go on forever. Part of what I love about abstraction is how I can take all these inspirations and translate them into colour, shape and texture that is rich with meaning.

In recent works, I further explore the nuances of colour and form, and their ability to evoke the human experience. Abstraction is capable of incapsulating and reflecting our experience of life, both for the artist and the viewer. Thoughts, feelings, memories, impressions, experiences. They all exist, layered and intertwined, in the painting. Infused into the canvas by the artist and extracted by the viewer through the filter of their own experiences.

I hope you find something here that deeply resonates in your soul.

A piece of my world that fits into yours.
