Kookaburra

With my love of animals and birds, this painting was inspired by me from a book that I had of birds. When I saw this picture, I immediately knew that I had to paint the kookaburra. The painting is on woodwork and has been painted in acrylic paint and I have used a palette knife to create texture on the log. The artistic creativity and technique I have used for the feathers becomes evident in the life like texture.

I have been painting since 2010 and have a keen interest in acrylic paints. I paint on mediums such as canvas and wood and paint from photographs taken of my subjects, or upon research of that particular subject, finding the photo and applying my creative, artistic aspect to the photograph found or taken. I have great skill with technique, shadows, perspective, strokes, blending and colour.
