Hi, thanks for looking at my work. My name is Niki, I live and paint in Sydney - Australia.
As an emerging artist I like to explore and experiment with new styles and ideas. I have done some portraits, landscapes and seascapes, currently I am most passionate about icescapes. For this series, my original idea is to paint icebergs “full frontal” – you can see it all. In reality we can see only about one-tenth of these floating sculptures – the part above the water surface. To paint the rest of it, I must use my imagination and that’s what I like about this creative challenge.
I have not been to polar regions yet, I’m studying icescapes from photos and videos and using these visions in my art. To me icebergs are truly beautiful. They are just ... cool. There are 6 basic shapes, but all icebergs are different. I feel they have personalities, so I give my paintings people’s names. Male or female, depends how I feel about them.
And I hope I will not run out of names.
