Artwork Description

This artwork is from the series 'Remember'. In this series I examine the role of the body as historian of our personal experience and identity. What the mind forgets the body remembers. The body in this photograph is trying to hold itself together, contained and protected. The arm coming from within is ambiguous as to whether it comes from this figure or from someone else intertwined.
This is a digitally collaged and manipulated photograph taken within the studio and printed as a giclee print on archival paper.
It is available in a range of sizes upon request.

She creates moving image works and photography at times combining these with digital collage, painting and photographic manipulation. These techniques are utilised in order to create works that carry an ambiguity of space and context allowing the viewer to create their own narrative. Nikki's work is psychological, emotive nd figurative and explores the internal and external worlds of the individual. In her 20 years as a practicing artist Nikki has exhibited in a range of solo and group shows, in the United Kingdom, Japan and Australia as well as in international virtual exhibitions.
