Artwork Description

This artwork is part of a series - Remember. The series deals with how we navigate the world and hold our sense of self when memory is lost. i have obscured part of the body to create ambiguity of context and narrative. This echos the experience of living within the body when we are lost and bodily memory is all we have left. The figure is crouching in the pause between movements.
This artwork is a studio photograph taken with a dancer and then digitally manipulated to create a fractured yet coherent sense of self. The resulting print would bring a sense of engagement with the work and proviide a point of interest in a room. The skin tones bring warmth and the physicality of the pose brings life and the suggestion of movement in suspense.
