Artwork Description

My work deals with the psychological and emotive experience of bodily memory. A fragmented yet coherent sense of self. Complete and yet not. This is a giclee print of a digitally altered photograph. The photograph has been altered so as to heighten the ambiguity of the image and enhance its evocative nature. This inspires the viewer to create their own narrative context to the work. The dimensions of the work can be negotiated upon discussion with the viewer.

Nikki Willson is a lens based artist who works as a photographer and digital film maker. She creates moving image works and photography at times combining these with digital collage, painting and photographic manipulation. These techniques are utilised in order to create works that carry an ambiguity of space and context allowing the viewer to create their own narrative. Nikki's work is psychological, emotive nd figurative and explores the internal and external worlds of the individual. In her 20 years as a practicing artist Nikki has exhibited in a range of solo and group shows, in the United Kingdom, Japan and Australia as well as in international virtual exhibitions.
