Artwork Description

Maroon, black and striking yellow features in this abstract cityscape.
Influenced by my love for medieval towns and urban cities in Italy, with varying brushstrokes, palette knife and marks to mimic the swirling streets and alleyways. Framed art works with glass are heavily protected in double bubble wrap and double cardboard supports.

Artist Bio

Mixed media abstract artist creating original artworks and digital prints.
My name is Denise Tomassini, ‘Nisee’ for short and I’m based in Wollongong NSW and have been creating abstract art part time for the last five years while juggling full time work.
I’m inspired by cityscapes, urban architecture and I love to incorporate mark making on both paper and canvas.
I am also intrigued by the ocean as I live near several beautiful beaches. I love adventure and the outdoors and am in awe every day on my walks and swims along the south coast. Always photographing scenes and gathering visual material for my seascapes and landscapes.
Texture and lines are my go to and I mainly work in mixed media incorporating acrylics, inks, charcoal, pencil and pastels.
Everyday I stand in front of my easel, I hope the unexpected happens. Each journey is unique and I can’t wait for that magical moment where time is irrelevant and a loss of control can ultimately lead me on a different path, to that subject matter that had previously eluded me.
I have had several mentors that have taught me various techniques and I know I will never stop learning.
Thanks for viewing my profile and I hope you love my artworks as much as I love creating them.
