Title: INDUSTRY
Theme: An abstract geometric painting featuring layered angular forms in bold, earthy and pastel tones, this is INDUSTRY.
Given the turbulence in today's political environment, this work reminds us that many Australian industries have been founded by and industralised with, technologies and practices from around the world, merging right here in our backyards. That they are managed by and employ Australians from all walks of life, who feed our economy.
INDUSTRY is in the eye of the beholder- in the sharp edges and deep colours, whether you see buildings, machinery or a glimpse of homes and streets, these are places we cultivated together.
Description:
This contemporary abstract artwork showcases overlapping geometric shapes with sharp, faceted edges, creating a dynamic sense of movement and depth. Rich burgundy, mustard yellow, forest green, teal, blush pink, and soft cream are contrasted against a cool turquoise background. Textured brushstrokes and visible line work add a hand-crafted, painterly quality, blending modern abstraction with a slightly cubist aesthetic. The composition feels architectural and landscape-inspired, evoking mountains, structures, or shifting terrain through abstract form.
