Cockatoo on a waratah/protea tree. Painted on 200gsm watercolour paper. Must be framed under glass.
I love cockatoos for they are funny, cheeky and as smart as us - people. It's believed that cockatoos in the wild can live up to 40 years. But who knew that they could live to 100? No wonder they are that smart! Telopea speciosissima, commonly known as the New South Wales waratah or simply waratah, is a large shrub. It is endemic to New South Wales in Australia and is the floral emblem of that state.
