I love this gorgeous and elegant summer "valley flower" (dahl, dal, dale, a valley) in a shape like a ball. They were brought to Europe by Spaniards from Mexico about 500 years ago. It's said that the flower has been named after Dahl, a Swedish botanical student, and is also known as Georgina, named after another botanist Georgini. A message in a vase, a thousand multi-layered petal pages of stories yet to read.
