Olga Nebot is an internationally awarded photographer and visual artist based in Sydney, Australia.
Olga discovered her passion for photography after emigrating to Australia as an adult and enrolling in a visual arts course where her unique eye and unparalleled ability to draw out even the most hesitant of subject was noticed by her professor who encouraged her to transform her passion into a profession.
In the 30 years since, Olga has cemented herself as a street photographer and environmental portraiture artist who draws on the spirit of people and place to create work that erupts with energy off the canvas.
Her street photography stands out for its direct nature—through Olga’s lens, people are empowered to be active owners of their stories, rather than passive participants in someone else’s. In her environmental and landscape work, Olga has become well known for fusing graphic design and classic photography techniques to add a sense of depth and texture to her pieces, creating work that truly captures the underlying mood of a moment.
Her latest collection, Floral Affair, was born of pandemic isolation and a desire to find a sense of control in a largely uncontrollable environment. In this work, Olga explored the delicate details of flowers through controlled lighting techniques, allowing her to manipulate the appearance of each flower, elevating them into something otherworldly.
Additionally, she is available to take on commissioned projects. Olga can be reached at olga.nebot@gmail.com and is excited to help identify the right piece for you in her collections or develop custom work that will complement your space.
