This artwork was shown at The Other Art Fair, Melbourne, 2019.
Fall for a shooting star has been framed in timber. The painting also comes signed and dated on the back, and fitted a hanging apparatus.
The body of work aims to present the experience of contemporary loneliness, as told by the painter/self. I employ a process-based methodology which physically puts my emotions and emotional memory onto the canvas. A physical embodiment. The supports are attacked, or stroked with my fingers applying the oil paint marks. A physical extension of myself. This methodology and thought pattern propose a juxtaposition for the viewer to consider. Is loneliness the desired solitude? Or can it be a negative and isolating experience?
