Artwork Description

Old Glory - Limited Edition (45) Print by Ona Filloy

A statement about the oppression of First Nation Americans as told by Russel Means, an Oglala Lakota activist who was a prominent member of the American Indian Movement (AIM). Miigwech to Tania Aubid, Native American activist and water protector for allowing me to use her image.

Artist Bio

Coming from a long career in illustration and design to studying fine art Ona Filloy likes to disrupt the boundaries between traditional and commercial art. Ona’s original limited edition digital art prints range from visually bold graphic art that highlights political and social issues to art that is decorative and visually attractive with no statement at all. Ona deliberately applies a limited colour palette with text within her imagery that suits the context of her subject which has become a signature of her work. Ona draws her inspiration mainly from various cultures and traditional dress that she has a particular interest in.
