What can I say? I love ice cream. My wife says that I shouldn't eat too much, so now I just paint ice creams.
This design started as an illustration many years ago where I had a lineup of 7 different flavours. This was then later created as a limited series of pin badges which I sold online to collectors from around the world. Now I decided to finally turn this into a painting.
I've always been intrigued about the blurred lines of 2D and 3D paintings and I've tried to incorporate this into my work. These ice creams are a continuation of that exploration.
Using acrylic paint each colour is stacked on a separate wooden panel. All panels are then layered on top of each other so it's appearing flat from one perspective but it's full of contours and depth.
