Artist Bio

Originally from Cuba Melbourne base artist Orlando Valdor is widely acknowledged for his paintings. His distinctive style, which draws inspiration from artistic movements such as Cubism, Elementarism, and Op Art, combines geometric elements with a vibrant palette. On the canvas, lines extend in multiple directions, creating random geometric shapes that tessellate and fill the space. From this intricate geometric framework, vivid colors hang suspended, giving rise to kaleidoscopic patterns that seem to bring reality to life in a magical way. The delicate balance between abstraction and realism gives birth to a new dimension of existence, allowing Orlando to explore philosophical and psychological themes in his artwork. Acrylic is his current chosen medium as it best suits his artistic approach.
He has received several notable achievements in recent times, including winning one of the main prizes at the 18th Maritime Art Prize. He has exhibited his work at Agora Gallery, New York. He has also being featured in the book "100 Best Selected Artists of 2020" and Issue 45 both published by Photographize, a globally renowned art platform.
