Artwork Description

This is a drawing I made from a shell I collected at The Entrance Beach, NSW. The subject is enlarged to show the details and intricacies of the shell. Carbon dust illustration is when dry graphite or carbon dust is brushed on to the surface creating soft tonal studies. The dust is then layered to create the different tones of the subject. A combination of erasers and fine pencil work reveal the details of the subject and help finish the artwork.
