Artwork Description

This artwork tells the story of a little old lady in her everyday life in the village. She wakes up in the morning gets dressed in the clothing she had sewed for herself many years ago puts on her headscarf and sits down to the traditional cup of brewed tea that is a staple at every breakfast table.
This collection is influenced by those who live in the shadows around the world, this piece is focused on village life in Turkey.
There is always a tired cup of tea to follow a large breakfast. This is the moment where she stops and takes time for herself.
The colors bring life to her energy and how much personality she has even at an old age she still makes people laugh and gets her point across.

Artist Bio

Can you imagine a world with no colour? How will art look those eyes? My name is Ozlum, an artistic Sydney-born woman with an over energized personality and a Turkish background. I love creating things with paint and want to share my colour with the world. My art journey began a long time ago before I even realized that I had stepped into it. It has taken me to places I never thought it could and I never want to take a step back again. I have given in to the urge of wanting to paint continuously every day, and now that is what I do. I paint on canvas on walls on buildings on fences and pretty much anything that you can ask me to paint on.

I love painting in colour blocks and bring out the life and brightness of my subjects to bring joy to their surroundings. If something isn't joyful, I won't paint it.
Coming from a whole history of downs there is no need for sad artwork because life is tough as it is, let art remind us of the joy.
