Artwork Description

Fishing
I used to live in Albany and enjoyed going fishing with the family. At first with my dad and brothers, dad had a boat and we would sail out to Michaelmas Island where the sea swelled over a reef to catch big Groper fish I would put lots of bait on my line imagining I would catch a huge fish, then my dad would take out his false teeth saying it's time to go the swell made him sick, I never did catch a big fish . Later when I had 5 children, we would go fishing off rocks the kids had fun catching crabs for bait sometimes we would go fishing off the jetty there was always lots of excitement and tangled lines.

Artist Bio

Painting the colors of Australia I love and enjoy rugged mountains, sweeping plains, and the Crystal Sea. Plus sunset’s whose hair streaks like fire and Kangaroo’s asleep in the scorching heat. Where red dust covers everything rust hiding secrets here and there, mirages tell lies of water as sheep zig-zag down to the creek. Old homesteads and sheds lost in time, where life’s a gamble of love and dreams’.
Now that I have retired from work and my five children have grown up I have time to paint again before it was impossible. I won art prizes as a teenager and had a large exhibition of 300 paintings.
I use to paint in oils but now most of my paintings are acrylic now because the paint dry’s quicker. My style is mostly traditional with a lot of detail and imagination.
