About

I have been drawing and painting all my life. My formal training was the Adelaide School of Art for 1 year, then by correspondence with the American School of Art, and have studied through many tutorials and art books. I have travelled extensively throughout my life and visited galleries world wide, learning constantly.
I took up painting full time after a move to Greece in 1991, where I painted portraits, murals and artwork for signage. My first exhibition was on my return to Australian with my Greek Living works in 1995.
My years of living in Asia, ( 8 ) have also influenced much of my work as I love to work with colour and as I feel a connection to the world of Asia and its' people.
I paint in oils, acrylics, on canvas and draw with charcoal and pastel. I also do commissioned work.
I tutor art privately and been tutor twice at Kenilworth Art Celebration as well as other Sunshine Coast Art groups.
I have had three published demonstration and art insight editorials; two in The Australian Artist Magazine 2014 and 2015 and one in Artist's Palette 2015.

Influences

Hans Heysen, as I come from South Australia and I painted landscapes as a child with his work as my inspiration.
Margaret Olley for my still life work with her strong use of colour and the way she captured light.
E.John Robinson for his sea scapes.
American Harley Brown with his use of form and shadow.
The Impressionists of course with their vibrancy of painting.
And many others.
