Late winter and early spring are peak season for the canola to flower in Victoria. In Central Victoria we are surrounded by bright fields of yellow, a very cheery end to a long winter. The rich red soil is a product of the many volcanoes in the area. The yellow of the canola is a great foil to the new green grass of the paddocks.
I love the simplicity of colour and form in this painting and it would suit a neutral decor and bring a ray of sunshine to any room.
